The climate of Hida Takayama is hot in summer and cold in winter, and there is a great difference in the temperature between the day and night, as well as summer and winter. And since we are in the mountains, the weather changes rapidly, you will need to check the weather forecast frequently and bring rain gear. Plan your wardrobe before your travel with the season in mind, bring enough warm clothes in the winter, and since the temperature would vary greatly depending on the weather for the spring and autumn, bring sweaters, coats, hats...etc.

Access to the hotel | Take the bus bound for Shinhotaka from JR Takayama Station and get off at the bus stop named “Okuhida Garden Hotel Yakedake” *Make sure you will get on the bus to Shinhotaka “via Fukuji Hot Spring”, as only this route will stop in front of our hotel. If you are taking the other route “via Ipposui”, you will need to get off at a stop before, called “Kuma Bokujo-mae (Kuma Ranch). Once you get to the bus stop, please contact us and we will come to pick you up right away. (Only for overnight guests) |
Okuhida may have snow from November onwards. Depending on the weather just before your arrival, your vehicles would need to either have snow chains or wear studless snow tires.
